InformaStorm is an executive technology, cybersecurity, risk, data, and AI advisory firm founded by Solomon Smith. Based in North Liberty, Iowa, InformaStorm works with mid-size organizations that already have capable technical teams but need senior-level judgment, governance, prioritization, and executive leadership without adding another full-time executive.

Our work spans fractional CISO and CTO leadership, cybersecurity and enterprise risk, AI governance, data governance, SOC 2 and compliance readiness, resilience, vendor and technology cost optimization, and Board/executive advisory. The focus is not on selling tools or operating a help desk. It is on helping leaders understand risk, make better decisions, and connect technology to measurable business value.

Led by Solomon Smith

Solomon Smith is the founder and CEO of InformaStorm and a cybersecurity, technology, and risk executive with more than two decades of experience across enterprise security, technology leadership, governance, privacy, data, and risk.

His background includes senior security leadership in financial services and global organizations: Chief Information Security Officer and SVP at Momentum Financial Services Group, Information Security Officer at Aegon Asset Management, and Global Information Security and Privacy Officer at Pearson. He began his career as a systems analyst and IT auditor and has taught as a university professor for more than 20 years. He holds the CISSP credential and has experience with ISO 27001 and HITRUST.

Through InformaStorm, Solomon serves organizations as a fractional CISO, fractional CTO/vCIO, AI-governance advisor, and executive risk advisor. His work includes NIST-aligned cybersecurity programs, AI governance, SOC 2 readiness, data governance, resilience, vendor oversight, technology-cost optimization, and Board/executive reporting.
